Do you want to see different kinds of fresh and saltwater crocodiles? Then, I think Agusan Marsh is the best place for you.

The Agusan Marsh is located near Bunawan, Agusan Del Sur. It became known worldwide because it is the place where the largest saltwater crocodile named “Lolong” captured. This place is declared as wildlife sanctuary or protected area for the different species of birds, fish, trees, crocodiles and etc. It covers a 14,835.989 hectare area home.

The people who live near in Agusan Marsh said that there is larger than Lolong. Until now, they try to search and catch the largest crocodile that said to be Lolong’s wife.

It is dangerous to live in that area where different kinds of crocodile are live. However, the people who live in there learned how to live with them.

It would make your vacation an awesome experience.

Macahambus Cave & Gorge

macahambus-cave4

If you are in Cagayan de Oro, you should never miss the Macahambus Cave & George.

The Macahambus Cave & George is located at Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro. You could see the beautiful floral species which some are found only in Cagayan de Oro. Aside from its attractive view of its complex ravine, it gives a glimpse of the historical background of that place. What I am amazed this place is that when you down to the floor of the gorge where there is an underground river that comes out from one cave to another cave.

This place is important to us Filipinos because it is the once a battle site between the Filipinos and American forces, where the Filipinos won a fight against the Americans.

Feel free to try there Macahambus Adventure Park.

Enchanted River

If you want to relax and take a vacation, there are many beaches here in Mindanao that may impress you to go to the beauty of the landscape; it looks like paradise that unparalleled the beauty. One was off the Enchanted River.

The enchanted river is located at the Barangay Talisay, Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur. It is named “enchanted river “of the local people living there because nobody has ever passed its bottom. Furthermore no one could catch the fish in this river, no matter how they tried by using their neither hand nor spear. The river looks captivating together with its magnificent blue water and filled of rich marine creatures. When I heard about it I suddenly thought even surprised when no one caught any fish there they strained. If you think this magical story is just an illusion but it just proves that there are many mysteries in the world is happening.

Approximately, it took 7-8 hours to travel from Davao City to rich the enchanted river in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. You can take a picnic with your friends, family; either boyfriend nor girlfriend and they also have a souvenir shop.
The best to go is 12:00nn to 1:00 pm in the afternoon because the water turn out to be clearer and even more majestic but when the bell rang, the people who swim should get out the water to start the feeding of  fishes in where a group of fish appeared.

Although it took long to travel into it but I certainly was frustrating worth all the tedious and time because of its beauty. So let us go off to Enchanted River.

Asik-Asik Falls

asik-asik-falls

This coming Christmas vacation, there are lots of beautiful places you can visit. If you were planning to spend your vacation here in the Philippines, I specifically encouraged you to visit Mindanao especially the attractive Asik-Asik falls which was discovered in 2012.

The Asik-Asik falls is located at Brgy. Dulao, Alamada, North Cotabato. When I saw it on social media, I suddenly thought to visit this beautiful place, if you were already amaze in this picture, how much more if you already see this place?

The named “Asik- asik” came from the Ilonggo word means sprinkle while the Iranons called it “Panguranan” which means drizzle or rain. The people were scared to go there because of the big Balete tree and only the people near the falls can visit. It was just accidentally discovered when the big Balete fell down.

The falls has a length of 60 meters and 140 meters in width. It has approximately 10 kilometers from the place near the boundary of North Cotabato and they found out that it is come from the rocks on the precipice.

It’s really nice because of the vegetation that surrounds the place and the water that pours out from the rocks. Many people believe that the place is mysterious because they couldn’t find the direct source of the water. Some people who had been there say that the water can heal sickness. Even though it is not yet scientifically proven, a lot of people still patronize the said falls.

I know that it takes a long journey to get there because you still have to ride on the motorcycle and walk more than a kilometer to reach the Asik-Asik falls, but it is all worth it. It is a good place to enjoy your Christmas break

Sunken Cemetery

Sunken Cemetery is located in Barrio Bonbon, Catamaran of Camiguin. It has a deep of 20 feet. The history of this cemetery begins when the whole capital of Camiguin as well as the cemetery was immersed under the sea during the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vulcan in 1871. In the next years, the sunken land and the gravestones were still visible when the tide is low but when Mt. Vulcan erupted again in 18948 the whole area sink even deeper to an approximate 20ft. A large cross was built in 1982 to mark the sunken graves of the province’s ancestor. That’s why it’s called “Sunken Cemetery” in which the word sunken means the having settled to a lower level. It is one of the most unique cemetery diving sites here in Mindanao.

Boats are available at the site that offers a ride to the white cross and also souvenir shops that sell local handicrafts and food items. Usually, many tourists go here for snorkeling and once you are there, you can find ruins and gravestone that were already gilded with colorful corals and lots of marine animals. They do not let tourist to enter the sunken cemetery when it’s already 4 pm in the afternoon.

You will definitely enjoy visiting here because of its stimulating history and beautiful underwater adventure.
